About The Event
The Rev. Katie Gillett, Associate Rector for Outreach and Spirituality at Christ Episcopal Church, Pensacola, is the keynote speaker on Saturday, October 12 for the Fall Assembly for the Central Gulf Coast Diocesan Assembly of the Order of the Daughters of the King. She has been a Daughter of the King for 13 years, beginning first as a Junior Daughter of the King.
Rev. Katie is a native of Orlando, Florida. She holds a B.A. of Arts in Mathematics from Vanderbilt and a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School. During her formation she interned in parishes and organizations in Orlando, FL; Nashville, TN; Durham, NC and Cary, NC.
Rev. Katie enjoys playing the violin. She is passionate about working with her neighbors inside and outside the walls of the church, sharing the story of God's salvation, proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ, and participating in God's transformative mission in the world.
The title of her presentation is "A Life of Prayer." This will be a day of gathering as a community to explore the Daughters of the King's Rule of Prayer, and a reflection on how music is one way to help us think about prayer and our experience of praying.
The event begins with registration at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3 p.m. The day will include two presentations, Eucharist, lunch and a short business meeting.
The cost is $15 and is open to all Daughters of the King as well as Inquirers who are interested in knowing more about the Order. Inquirers should register with that designation on the Chapter line on the registration form which is included in this publication.
