This has been an exciting year for Church of the Redeemer in Mobile, AL and Scouts BSA. Church of the Redeemer became the Charter organization for Scouts BSA Troop 251. This is the only Scouts BSA Troop with girls in Mobile, AL. We are all excited that girls are making their path to the rank of Eagle Scout.

With prayers and the support of Redeemer, the girls successfully completed a

Summer Camp Traveling Expedition at the beginning of June. This adventure took the Troop on an 1800 mile trip across 5 states and they were able to earn 9 merit badges. They were able to experience seeing manatees, exploring a gold mine, the Appalachian Trial, Clingman's Dome, Smokey Mountain National Park, Gatlinburg Aquarium, The Titanic Museum, Chattanooga's Train Depot, The Space and Science Museum in Huntsville, and a restaurant built into a cave.

Some of the girls are also extremely active in the Order of the Arrow and are on the Drum and Ceremonies Team. They also perform countless hours of community service with organizations such as Community Café at Redeemer, Love U Love U Day, The Core School, Junior League of Mobile, Focus Women's Conference, Scout's BSA of Mobile, and Eagle Scout Projects throughout Mobile just to name a few.

Church of the Redeemer is excited to welcome Troop 251 with open arms. We wish all the girls throughout Scouts BSA success on their path to Eagle Scout. If you would like more information or are considering joining Scouts BSA, please contact Troop 251's Scoutmaster, Thomas Archer, at 251-404-4295 or troop251mobileal@gmail.com
